We’ve got the latest edition of PingZine today, May Day. The reason I mentioned it is because Host Color is one of the sponsors of this web hosting magazine. Why do I mentioned May Day. Because today is a May Day. And I’m glad to be on my work place today, fine tradition I follow!

As you know May Day is an official holiday in many EU countries, so we don’t expect many sales in Europe today. Most people don’t think too much of their website businesses on this day. But this is another busy day in U.S. and Canada. My personal opinion is that it is much better to have Labo(u)r Day, so Americans and Canadians have a better holiday! In Europe this is very much politically related holiday (Leftist parties celebrate all over Europe). But let’s go back to web hosting.

I like this magazine. “Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Just another Stinky Sequel” says the magazine from the cover of its lates issue. The magazine also publishes an interesting article which says that “Social Networking Is Due For Mergers”. The title is based on projection of Forrester Research analyst. The main reason is that social networking websites are flooding the market.

There is a good opportunity for executives in hosting buisness. Unnamed hosting company has posted 1 page offering which invites hosting professionals to apply for position “Director of Sales” of a big web hosting company. The benefits start with salary of $410 k. But let’s go further. There is a nice page titled “The Web Hoster’s Tool Belt” where editors have featured some software applications they believe are good to be installed and added to hosting services.
