We’re developing our own zero downtime web hosting environment based on Supermicro blade servers. it has been tested for 2 months and it will be installed between September 27th and October 4th in our 2nd European data center in Sofia, Bulgaria. It is aimed to serve our customers from Southeastern Europe and some Asian customers. Take a look at blade configuration and service platform.

The Blade Servers

The chassis of ”Supermicro SuperBlade®” blade server we’re deploying host up to 10 blades. Each server has 2 Intel Xeon E5420 2.5 GHz processors with 12M cache, 1333 front side bus, Quad core with 8GB RAM DDR2.

Host Color Is Going Green

With the Supermicro Blade servers we pay attention on preserving our green planet. It saves more than 100 watts over a traditional discrete 1U rack-mount server. The savings add up quickly when the blade chassis has 10 servers. The blade technology eliminates the overhead of 1U discrete servers and has high efficiency (up to 93%) power supplies. this means it saves between $700 and $1,000 per year in power without even calculating the cooling costs. It also reduces carbon dioxide emissions by over 5.5 metric tons. This is the equivalent of planting 1.7 acres of trees.
